Terms & Conditions for 18th Birthdays
There are strict laws regarding the consumption of alcohol and the behaviour of younger clients while on licensed premises and we want everyone to have a good time,
but as guests at 18th Birthdays are on that age limit we have some simple rules. Most of the rules actually apply to all parties so please don’t be offended.
FOOD AT PARTIES:
We insist that some food is supplied to guests at ‘under 21’ parties.
RESPONSIBLE ADULTS
Required for parties where the average age is under 21
The Client is the adult who books the party. We insist on the presence of at least FOUR identifiable Responsible Adults (one of whom should be the Client)
who can vouch for all the guests, their ages and their behaviour. These adults undertake to pass on these guidelines to all the guests and to be present
from the start of the party to the finish. In the event of any problems arising we would ask these Responsible Adults
to be there to help deal with the problem and resolve it.
UNDERAGE DRINKING
The law is clear on this matter -
If anyone under the age of 18 attempts to buy alcohol or is found consuming alcohol on or off the premises, we will have to ask them to leave the party
and if it happens too often we will consider closing the bar for the sale of alcohol. The client may request an alcohol free bar or may point out underage guests to our staff.
Our bar staff will ask for recognised forms of ID before serving anyone who looks to be under 21.
To help with this we are happy to supply wristbands to young clients who show appropriate ID to our staff
BRINGING DRINK INTO THE PARTY
We will ask any guest found or suspected of bringing their own drink onto the premises to leave
and if the problem is widespread we may have to consider closing the bar until the issue is resolved. Please expect any bags to be checked by our door staff.
LEAVING THE PARTY -
We don’t allow guests to go backwards and forwards to the roadside, especially as this is often to consume alcohol off the premises.

USE OF DRUGS ON OR OFF THE PREMISES
If we suspect drug use we will be forced to close the party. Please be aware we do not require proof of drug use,
it is a legal requirement for us to act if we reasonably suspect drug use.
VERBAL OR PHYSICAL ABUSE OR DAMAGE TOWARDS STAFF AND PROPERTY
We will not accept any verbal or physical abuse between party guests or against any of our staff or club members.
It is the responsibility of the Responsible Adults to ensure reasonable and responsible behaviour from their guests.
The Client is responsible for any damage done by the guests and agrees to pay any repair or replacement costs incurred.
DOORMAN
We can only provide this service with the assistance of two SIA Licensed Door staff for up to 100 guests and three for up to 150 guests.
SIA Licensed Doormen will no longer work alone so two is the minimum. We charge the cost price of £75 per SIA Licensed Door staff and take no profit on this.
These Doorman really will help to make the evening enjoyable and safe for all.
UNINVITED GUESTS
The Client agrees to ensure that they know who has been invited to the party and The Roffen would prefer that they send out a written Party Invitation.
The Roffen door staff will work from a guest list and inspect invitations but ultimately the responsibility remains with the client to ensure that uninvited guests are not
encouraged in the first place, and if they do gain entry, are identified and asked to leave. The Doorman will be pleased to assist if needs be.
RETURNABLE DAMAGE DEPOSIT
We charge a £200 deposit against damage and sickness. We deduct £20 each time our staff have to clear up sick and the full cost of any extraordinary cleaning or repairs.
CLOSING THE PARTY
The Roffen Club will work with the client and the guests at all times but The Roffen retains the right to close the party if these terms and conditions are not complied with,
and if the party is closed by us for any reason then no refund will be given.
We will keep the Responsible Adults in touch with any issues but the final say rests with the Roffen Club.
